Baked bean poverty

Baked beans again today; I had baked beans yesterday,

No doubt I’ll have bake beans tomorrow.

The only way I’m ganna have something different

is if I go to the bank and borrow.

Cause I’m living on the pension,

and there’s no way I could afford better or save.

Living on the pension is strictly a matter of

‘day to day.’

And if the price of baked beans or bread goes up,

I believe I just couldn’t keep a float.

Cause I think I’d have to starve

without me baked beans on toast.
