Economic rationalism

We are a society / not just an economy.

We are people /not just dollars on a statistical graph.

We are brothers and sisters / mothers and fathers.

We worry / we cry / we joke / we laugh.

We are not simply the objects of an economic rationale task.

We gather as believers /not simply as people in Churches made of stones.

We are lovers in relationships /not just marriage units within the institutions.

And we don’t live in houses / we live in homes.

And we are not simply the objects of an economic rationale task

Our children go to schools to learn to be happy.

We join unions because we believe in ‘what is fair.’

We work to unite humanity because we believe that what we have,

we should share.

And we are not simply the objects of an economic rationale task.

We are thinkers / not just mindless consumers.

We are sentinel individuals / not just a mass.

We are vulnerable; yes we are, but this does not mean, ‘exploitable.’

Exploitable as if we were mere objects of the economic rationale task.

We are more than just numbers / a statistic upon a graph.

We are more than just a theory / in your experiment upon what you see as

‘the mindless mass.’

We are not just an ‘economy’ but a rich and varied ‘society.’

And we are not simply the objects, of the economic rationale task.
