Book 35Page 5

Halt who goes there

On the path, in the middle of the road, stands the ‘ego’ checking all that goes through.

“Halt who goes there!? I am the ego; nobody goes through without my permission.”

“I am ‘emotion,’ I am unhappy,

I wish to go on my way, will you let me through?”

“What is the nature of your emotion?

Where do you originate?

What is your destination?”

“I wish to see my God, my self, my true home,

I have tidings to take him,

he alone will understand my emotion, my origins,”

let me through!

“H-m, I shall think about it.”

“Halt who goes there!? I am the ego; nobody goes through without my permission”

“I am ‘intuition,’ I carry wisdom,

I wish to go on my way, will you let me through?”

“What is the nature of your intuition?

Where do you originate?

What is your destination?”

“I wish to see my God, my self, my true home,

I have tidings to take him; he alone will understand my wisdom, my origins,”

let me through!

“H-m, I shall think about it.

“Halt who goes there!? I am the ego; nobody goes through without my permission”

“I am ‘thought,’ you know me, I am your closet friend!

I am logic, I am scientific, I am dogma, I am the intellect,

I wish to go on my way, will you let me through?”

“Yes you may go through,

I know you well.

But tell me, where do you go!?

What is your destination?”

“I am on my way to God, to my self, to my true home.”

“Prey tell, what kind of a crazy thought is that!?

You will stay here,

I have some serious questions for you.”
