I thought I saw my soul

I thought I saw my soul

all ragged torn and cold

as I passed a beggar in the street.

And then he smiled and looked longingly into my eyes

and I realised;

perhaps I had.

I was not mistaken.

It was my soul, all ragged torn and cold.
