Inventions of the soul

We see with ‘our eyes, ‘

But colours do not come from them.

We hear with ‘our ears, ‘

But sounds do not come from them.

We think with ‘our brain,’

But what is a thought?

We feel with ‘our hearts,’

But who actually feels.

Thoughts and feelings,

sights and sounds,

cannot exist outside of time,

And yet I think that time

is the lone invention

of the soul.
