Nature and man

Hurricanes / typhoons,

storms upon the earth.

Bringing man in contact with nature,

for all it’s worth.

Reminding man

who is really in charge.

Just in case man forgets

that he is small and nature is large.

A natural reminder

of our intimate connection with nature.

Telling us -in no uncertain terms - that we are all,

‘nature’s creatures.’

Born of this earth attached

and ‘unto it’ we must die.

Yet until natures ‘rage’ this we tend to forget,

as if to live out a lie.

Believing we are beyond nature,

or that we have it under our control.

Nature and land often being considered simply,

as something to be bought and sold.

Natural catastrophes,

powerful and wild.

Reminding us (just in case we forget)

that we are all ‘natures child.’
