The good writer

The good writer builds a relationship with the paper and pen,

or with the keyboard and the screen.

The good writer builds a relationship with the potential reader,

with the thoughts and feelings of the potential reader.

And then; the very best of writers goes on to build a relationship with the hearts of men.
