How much is that doggie in the window
How much is that doggie in the window?
I can’t afford … much on the dole.
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie’s not sold.
How much is that doggie in the window,
“four hundred” the owners reply.
Have you got any cheap doggies in the window,
ones that a poor bloke can buy?
“Two hundred’s the cheapest in the window.
And that’s about as low … as I go.”
“But I haven’t got that much money in my pocket,
I haven’t got that much money to blow.”
O I must have a doggie in the window,
there must be a dog that is cheap!?
I only got fifty in my pocket,
and I do want a dog I can keep.
I wanted that doggie in the window,
the one with the wagly tail.
But I can’t afford that doggie in the window,
although that dear doggie’s for sale.
