B 19 Pg 28

I wish I was a rich man

I wish I was a rich man

and not have to work another day.

I wish I could sit around all day relaxing,

while I collect my pay.

I’d have ten thousand people under me,

all obediently carrying out my will.

I wish I was a rich man

the one that collects the bills.

O I wish, I wish I was thrifty stinking rich,

beyond my wildest dreams.

But alas; I am unemployed man,

in reality it seem.

But one day! Yes one day I’m ganna ‘make it,’

and then I’ll be on top of the pile.

But for now I must try so very hard to be content with my lot,

and live in pauper stile.
