The decline of the fair go

The decline of the fair go;

where IR laws say employees can’t really say “no.”

Where no longer is there fair banter ‘to and fro.’

`Cause we all know, employees are gonna have to tow the line or else.

The IR laws handing ultimate power to employers.

Work place relations worked out by well paid lawyers.

And politics becomes the ‘fair work place’ bargaining destroyer.

And we all know employees are gonna have to tow the line or else.

When minimal wages are pushed down.

“IR’s” gonna mean much more than just a noun.

When everybody’s gonna have to conform in this IR ‘boss town’.

`Cause we all know, employees are gonna have to tow the line or else.

And of course in IR, the boss is gonna have things completely his way.

All because we lose ‘our say’.

And working life is gonna keep getting worse day by day.

`Cause we all know, employees are gonna have to tow the line or else.

And we aught to know that;

employees are gonna have to tow the line or else.

So goodbye to “the fair go.”

Goodbye to the power to say “no.”

And hello to a wage that are low.
