My departed friend
I say some words to you my friend,
although you are dead and gone.
I remember everything you said so clearly,
as if they were words of a song.
Words of love and understanding
and advice to strive and to be real.
I remember your words like it was only yesterday
and how they made me feel
I remember your thoughts,
to try and reach beyond our earthly bounds.
To this day I remember your words,
tumbling and echoing around.
And although it has been many years
since you passed away,
I still feel the need to say;
“thankyou.”
