My people
“My people!
my people!”
The passionate speech kept saying.
Every paragraph,
every line,
every thought began with the line,
"My people."
And the audience sat and listened.
They could understand its logic.
They could understand its finer points.
They could understand its essential meaning.
But they could not understand its ‘passion,’
For they did not understand the passion behind the words;
“my people.”
